Why wide mouth is the default
The opening takes ice cubes without chipping them and takes a bottle brush all the way to the bottom. If the bottle will ever hold anything other than water — coffee, a protein shake, iced tea — that second point is the one that decides whether it stays in use after a month. It is the reason wide mouth outsells standard mouth several times over in this catalogue.
The trade-off nobody mentions
A wide opening is harder to drink from at speed, and awkward one-handed in a car. If you are buying for drivers, field service or delivery crews, pair the wide mouth body with a Flex Straw cap or a Flex Chug cap rather than the plain Flex Cap. The bottle is the same; the lid solves the problem.
Sizes in this range
16 and 20 oz for desks and conferences, 24 oz as the general-purpose size, 32 oz for the gym, 40 oz for a full day without a refill. Travel Bottle versions of the 32 and 40 oz are shaped to clear a cupholder.
Decoration
Most bottles in this range are laser etched, and on those the etch is the included method rather than an upgrade. It is worth knowing what it looks like: the etch cuts through Hydro Flask’s Color Last powder coat to bare stainless, so your mark reads silver, not in your brand color. If you need the logo in color, pick a product whose page names imprint or screen print instead.
