Sizes and what fits in them

8 oz is a soup cup or a child’s portion. 12 oz is a single serving of soup or oatmeal. 20 oz is a full adult lunch and is the size most people mean when they ask for a food jar. 28 oz is a meal plus sides, or lunch for two. The 3 and 5 QT serving bowls are a different product entirely — they are insulated bowls for carrying a dish to a potluck or a catered table, not personal containers.

Why a food jar and not a lunch box

A food jar keeps one hot thing hot. A lunch box or insulated tote keeps several cold things cold. They solve opposite problems and a lot of programs buy the wrong one. If the audience eats soup, chili, oatmeal or leftovers at a desk, the jar is right. If they pack a sandwich and a drink, it is not.

Openings and lids

The openings are wide enough to eat from directly with a standard spoon, which is the practical difference between these and a thermos flask. Lids are screw-on and leakproof when closed properly. They are not vented, so do not fill one with something still steaming and seal it immediately.

Decoration

The wall is a straight cylinder on the 8 through 28 oz jars, which is the easiest surface in the catalogue to decorate — fine detail reproduces better here than on a curved bottle or a fabric panel. The method is named on each product page, and where one is named, one color in one location is included in the price. Some jars are priced blank with decoration quoted separately; those pages say so.

Ordering

Minimum order quantity is per item and shown on each product page. For a headcount you cannot yet confirm, send it through Request a Quote and we will price it against the tier you expect to land on rather than the one on the page.
